And there was much murmuring among the people
concerning him: for some said, He is a good man: others
said, Nay; but he deceiveth the people.
Howbeit no man spake openly of him for fear of the
Jews.
Now about the midst of the feast Jesus went up into the
temple, and taught.
And the Jews marvelled, saying, How knoweth this man
letters, having never learned?
Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine,
but his that sent me.
If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine,
whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.
He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory: but
he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true,
and no unrighteousness is in him. Did not Moses give
you the law, and yet none of you keepeth the law? Why
go ye about to kill me?
The people answered and said, Thou hast a devil: who
goeth about to kill thee?
Jesus answered and said unto them, I have done one work,
and ye all marvel.
Moses therefore gave unto you circumcision; (not because
it is of Moses, but of the fathers;) and ye on the sabbath
day circumcise a man.
If a man on the sabbath day receive circumcision, that
the law of Moses should not be broken; are ye angry at
me, because I have made a man every whit whole on the
sabbath day?
Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous
judgment. Then said some of them of Jerusalem, Is not this
he, whom they seek to kill?
But, lo, he speaketh boldly, and they say nothing unto him.
Do the rulers know indeed that this is the very Christ?
Howbeit we know this man whence he is: but when Christ
cometh, no man knoweth whence he is.
Then cried Jesus in the temple as he taught, saying, Ye
both know me, and ye know whence I am: and I am not
come of myself, but he that sent me is true, whom ye know
not.
But I know him: for I am from him, and he hath sent me.
Then they sought to take him: but no man laid hands on
him, because his hour was not yet come.
And many of the people believed on him, and said, When
Christ cometh, will he do more miracles than these which
this man hath done?
John 7:12-31

1. What do you think about Jesus? People have different
opinions about Jesus Christ.
And there was much murmuring among the people
concerning him: for some said, He is a good man: others
said, Nay; but he deceiveth the people.
John 7:12

2. What do you think about Jesus? Some people think
Jesus was just a good man.
Jesus Christ was more than a good man. His birth, life and
crucifixion were prophesied in over one hundred places in the
Old Testament with remarkable accuracy. The combined weight
of these prophecies alone is enough to prove that Jesus was the
Messiah. This is unlike any other religious leader, whose coming
was not foretold.
And there was much murmuring among the people
concerning him: for some said, HE IS A GOOD MAN…
John 7:12

3. What do you think about Jesus? Some people think
he was a deceiver.
Jesus was not a deceiver. The life, the mission and the death
of other religious leaders reveal their earthly and worldly origins.
Jesus Christ was different. Jesus Christ was the Messiah. He
was born miraculously to a virgin. This is in contrast to other
claimants who had nothing miraculous about their birth. He rose
from the dead after three days unlike other religious leaders of
this world who remain dead and rotten in their graves. Jesus is
the only One who can say, “I was dead and behold I am alive for
ever and ever.”
And there was much murmuring among the people
concerning him: for some said, He is a good man: others
said, Nay; but HE DECEIVETH THE PEOPLE.
John 7:12
4. What do you think about Jesus? Some people saw
him as a wise man.
But Jesus Christ was more than a teacher. Unlike other
people, His death did not come without warning, without plan
and without forethought. The death of Jesus was anticipated and
ordained by God for a purpose.
And the Jews marvelled, saying, HOW KNOWETH THIS
MAN LETTERS, having never learned?
John 7:15

5. What do you think about Jesus? Some people think
he was demon-possessed.
But how could Jesus Christ have been demon-possessed?
We all know the signs of demon possession. Jesus Christ never
sinned. He lived a perfect life. This cannot be said about other
people who claim to be messengers of God.
Jesus Christ never killed anybody in His life.
He never married anyone nor did He mistreat any woman.
Jesus Christ never had sexual relations with any woman, man or
child. Jesus Christ never murdered anyone.
Jesus never attacked anyone in His house. Jesus Christ never
invaded anyone’s city. Jesus Christ never looted and pillaged
any town or city. He never stole anything from anyone. But
some people thought He had a devil.
The people answered and said, THOU HAST A DEVIL:
who goeth about to kill thee?
John 7:20

6. What do you think about Jesus? Some people see
Him as a doer of miraculous signs.
Jesus did many miracles. He also commanded His disciples
to heal the sick, raise the dead and cleanse those who had leprosy.
Jesus Christ is recorded to have performed over thirty miracles
and John writes that Jesus did many other things as well.
And many of the people believed on him, and said, When
Christ cometh, will he do MORE MIRACLES THAN
THESE which this man hath done?
John 7:31

And there are also many other things which Jesus did,
the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose
that even the world itself could not contain the books that
should be written. Amen.
John 21:25

7. What do you think about Jesus? Some people see
Him as the prophet.
But Jesus was more than a prophet. Jesus Christ is the
central figure of Christianity. His life and ministry separate Him
eternally from any past or present religious leader.
Many of the people therefore, when they heard this saying,
said, Of a truth THIS IS THE PROPHET. Others said,
this is the Christ. But some said, shall Christ come out of
Galilee?
John 7:40-41

8. What do you think about Jesus? Who do you say He
is? Peter answered, “You are the Saviour”.
In order to be saved you must have a personal revelation
about who Jesus Christ is to you. He may be different things to
different people. But who is He to you? You must receive Him
as the only Mediator between God and man. You must receive
Him as your Saviour. Jesus Christ became a Saviour to Peter.
He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? And
Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the
Son of the living God.
Matthew 16:15-16

9. What do you think about Jesus? Jesus is the Mediator
between God and man.
For there is one God, and one mediator between God and
men, the man Christ Jesus;
1 Timothy 2:5
Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none
other name under heaven given among men, whereby we
must be saved.
Acts 4:12
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life:
no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
John 14:6
