And it came to pass, as he went to Jerusalem, that he
passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee.
And as he entered into a certain village, there met him
ten men that were lepers, which stood afar off:
And they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master,
have mercy on us.

And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go shew
yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as
they went, they were cleansed.
And one of them, when he saw that he was healed,
turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God,
And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks:
and he was a Samaritan. And Jesus answering said,
Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine?
There are not found that returned to give glory to God,
save this stranger. And he said unto him, Arise, go thy
way: THY FAITH HATH MADE THEE WHOLE.
Luke 17:11-19

1. Jesus healed ten lepers in one stroke. The power of
Jesus Christ is available for many people. God can
do ten miracles of the same kind in one day because
His power is awesome. The power of God can cure
incurable diseases. In those days, leprosy was an
incurable and insurmountable disease.
And it came to pass, as he went to Jerusalem, that he
passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee.
And as he entered into a certain village, there met him
TEN MEN that were lepers, which stood afar off:
Luke 17:11-12

2. Incurable diseases are death sentences. That is why
mercy from God must be sought. The ten lepers were
wise to seek for mercy and nothing else.
And they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master,
HAVE MERCY on us.
Luke 17:13

3. The miracle happened to the ten lepers as they obeyed
the commandment of the Lord. It was only as they
went to see the priests that they realized that they
were healed. As you obey the instruction of the man
of God to stand, to open your eyes or to walk, you will
discover that the power of God has healed you.
And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go shew
yourselves unto the priests. And IT CAME TO PASS,
THAT, AS THEY WENT, THEY WERE CLEANSED.
Luke 17:14

4. It’s sad to say, only one person came back to say thank
you for what God had done. Many people do not
realise that it is God who healed them. Many people
do not thank God for healing them.

And ONE OF THEM, when he saw that he was healed,
turned back, and with a loud voice GLORIFIED GOD,
Luke 17:15

5. When the one Samaritan came back to say thank
you, a greater miracle occurred in his life and Jesus
declared him to be whole. So the nine were cleansed
but this one was made whole.
And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks:
and he was a Samaritan.
And Jesus answering said, were there not ten CLEANSED?
but where are the nine?
There are not found that returned to give glory to God,
save this stranger.
And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath
made thee WHOLE.
Luke 17: 16-19

6. The miracle healing of the ten lepers demonstrates
the love of God, the compassion of Jesus Christ, the
greatness of Jesus Christ and the power of the Holy
Spirit.
… For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he
might destroy the works of the devil.
1 John 3:8
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten
Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish,
but have everlasting life.
John 3:16

7. Show your appreciation to God for what He has done
for you in sending His Son Jesus Christ to die on a
cross for you. Say “Thank you” to God by opening
your heart and receiving Jesus Christ as your Lord
and personal Saviour.

How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation;
which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was
confirmed unto us by them that heard him;
Hebrews 2:3
