Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest
the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give
me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and
he would have given thee living water.
John 4:10

1. Many people meet with Jesus but they do not
recognize who He is. As a result of this they miss
Him. Jesus asked the woman of Samaria whether
she recognized who He was.
Jesus answered and said unto her, IF THOU KNEWEST
the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give
me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he
would have given thee living water.
John 4:10

2. The woman of Samaria was with Jesus but did not
recognize who He was.
The woman saith unto him, I KNOW THAT MESSIAS
COMETH, which is called Christ: when he is come, he                                                                                will tell us all things. Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto
thee am he.
John 4:25-26

3. Pontius Pilate was with Jesus but it was his wife who
recognized whom He was in a dream.
When he was set down on the judgment seat, HIS WIFE
sent unto him, saying, Have thou nothing to do with that
just man: for I have suffered many things this day in a
dream because of him.
Matthew 27:19

4. There were two thieves on the cross but only one
recognized Him.
And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on
him, saying, if thou be Christ, save thyself and us.
But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not
thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation?
And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our
deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss.
Luke 23:39-41

5. The two men on the road from Emmaus did not
recognize Jesus.
And, behold, two of them went that same day to a
village called Emmaus, which was from Jerusalem about
threescore furlongs.
And they talked together of all these things which had
happened. But their eyes were holden that THEY SHOULD
NOT KNOW HIM.
Luke 24:13-14, 16

6. Peter recognized Jesus and said He was the Son of
God.
When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he
asked his disciples, saying, whom do men say that I the
Son of man am?
And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist:
some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets.
He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?
And Simon Peter answered and said, THOU ART THE
CHRIST, the Son of the living God.
Matthew 16:13-16

7. Do you recognize and know that Jesus is knocking on
the door of your heart? If you knew, you would answer
and open your heart to Him so that you can be saved.
Behold, I STAND AT THE DOOR, and knock: if any man
hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him,
and will sup with him, and he with me.
Revelation 3:20
