Our fathers did eat manna in the desert; as it is written,
He gave them bread from heaven to eat.
Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you,
Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my
Father giveth you the true bread from heaven.
For the bread of God is he which cometh down from
heaven, and giveth life unto the world.
Then said they unto him, Lord, evermore give us this
bread.

And Jesus said unto them, I AM THE BREAD OF
LIFE: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he
that believeth on me shall never thirst.
John 6:31-35

1. Jesus is the Bread of Life and men should seek
Him for fulfilment. Yet men are seeking fulfilment,
satisfaction and accomplishment in all the wrong
places.

Yes, we are all hungry. Men are always seeking to satisfy
their hunger in the wrong way. To be hungry means to desire
something that will satisfy you. To hunger is to have a need for
something. To hunger is to have a wish that needs to be satisfied.
To be hungry is to have a passionate desire for something. To
hunger is to have a yearning. To hunger is to have a longing or a
craving for something.

All men do have a hunger and craving within them. They are
looking for their Creator and their Maker. Unfortunately, most
people are seeking to satisfy this longing in the wrong way. They
are seeking to fulfil their needs in the wrong places. Indeed,
blessed are those who hunger and thirst after the right thing,
which is righteousness, for they shall truly be filled and satisfied.
Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he
that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy
wine and milk without money and without price.

Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread?
and your labour for that which satisfieth not? hearken
diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let
your soul delight itself in fatness.
Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul
shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with
you, even the sure mercies of David.
Isaiah 55:1-3

2. Jesus is the Bread of Life and men should seek Him for
fulfilment. Yet men are seeking fulfilment, satisfaction
and accomplishment by SEEKING MONEY AND
WEALTH.

Sadly, the money they are seeking for will not give them the
satisfaction and fulfilment they need.
You have planted much but harvested little. You have
food to eat, but not enough to fill you up. You have wine
to drink, but not enough to satisfy your thirst. You have
clothing to wear, but not enough to keep you warm. Your
wages disappear as though you were putting them in
pockets filled with holes!

“This is what the LORD Almighty says: Consider how
things are going for you!” “Now go up into the hills,
bring down timber, and rebuild my house. Then I will take
pleasure in it and be honored, says the LORD.”
Haggai 1:6-8 (NLT)

He that loveth silver shall not be satisfied with silver; nor
he that loveth abundance with increase: this is also vanity.
Ecclesiastes 5:10

3. Jesus is the Bread of Life and men should seek Him for
fulfilment. Yet men are seeking fulfilment, satisfaction
and accomplishment by SEEKING KNOWLEDGE.

EVER LEARNING, and never able to come to the
knowledge of the truth.

2 Timothy 3:7

For in much wisdom is much grief: and he that
INCREASETH KNOWLEDGE increaseth sorrow.

Ecclesiastes 1:18

And further, by these, my son, be admonished: of making
many books there is no end; and MUCH STUDY is a
weariness of the flesh.

Ecclesiastes 12:12

4. Jesus is the Bread of Life and men should seek
Him for fulfilment. Yet men are seeking fulfilment,
satisfaction and accomplishment by giving themselves
to sin and pleasure. THE LIFE OF PLEASURE they
seek will not give them the satisfaction and fulfilment
they want.

For the time already past is sufficient for you to have carried
out the desire of the Gentiles, having pursued a course of
sensuality, lusts, drunkenness, carousals, drinking parties
and abominable idolatries.
And in all this, they are surprised that you do not run with
them into the same excess of dissipation, and they malign
you; but they shall give account to Him who is ready to
judge the living and the dead.

1 Peter 4:3-5 (NASB)

5. Jesus is the Bread of Life and men should seek Him
for fulfilment. Yet men are seeking fulfilment and
satisfaction by DRINKING THEMSELVES TO
DEATH.

The alcohol they drink will only destroy their lives.
Who hath woe? Who hath sorrow? Who hath contentions?
Who hath babbling? Who hath wounds without cause?
Who hath redness of eyes? They that tarry long at the
wine; they that go to seek mixed wine. Look not thou
upon the wine when it is red, when it giveth his colour in
the cup, when it moveth itself aright.

Proverbs 23:29-31

Woe unto them that rise up early in the morning, that they
may follow strong drink; that continue until night, till wine
inflame them!

Isaiah 5:11

6. Jesus is the Bread of Life and men should seek Him
for fulfilment. Yet men are seeking fulfilment and
satisfaction by having NUMEROUS AFFAIRS WITH
WOMEN.

Unfortunately, instead of these sexual desires leading to
satisfaction, they often lead to wounds, destruction and dishonour.
But whoso committeth adultery with a woman lacketh
understanding: he that doeth it destroyeth his own soul.

A wound and dishonour shall he get; and his reproach shall
not be wiped away.

Proverbs 6:32-33

7. Jesus is the Bread of Life and men should seek Him
for fulfilment. Yet men are seeking fulfilment, through
HOMOSEXUALITY. But homosexuality will lead to
more curses and more destruction.

For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections:
for even their women did change the natural use into
that which is against nature: And likewise also the men,
leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust
one toward another; men with men working that which is
unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of
their error which was meet.

Romans 1:26-27

8. Jesus is the Bread of Life and men should seek Him for
fulfilment. Yet men are seeking fulfilment, satisfaction
and accomplishment by WORKING THEMSELVES
TO DEATH.

But fulfilment can only be found in Christ.
There is one alone, and there is not a second; yea, he hath
neither child nor brother: yet is there no end of all his
labour; neither is his eye satisfied with riches; neither saith
he, For whom do I labour, and bereave my soul of good?
This is also vanity, yea, it is a sore travail.

Ecclesiastes 4:8

9. Jesus Christ is the Bread of Life, which was broken
for us on the Cross of Calvary.

This is how the body
of Christ was broken for us:
a. He was whipped for us: “And they smote him on the head
with a reed…” (Mark 15:19).
b. He was spat upon for us: “… and did spit upon him …”
(Mark 15:19).
c. His hands and legs were pierced with nails: “…they pierced
my hands and my feet…” (Psalm 22:16).
d. His head was pierced with thorns: “And they clothed him
with purple, and platted a crown of thorns, and put it about
his head,” (Mark 15:17).
e. He was beaten and wounded for us: “But he was wounded
for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities:
the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his
stripes we are healed” (Isaiah 53:5).
f. His side was pierced for us: “But one of the soldiers with a
spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood
and water” (John 19:34).
10. Receive the broken Body of Christ and have eternal
life:
Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath
eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.
John 6:54
