“...The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” – James 5:16
The Bible teaches that prayer has great effects. Almost every Christian knows this famous Scripture on the power of prayer. However, do we fully grasp the meaning of the term “avail much”?
To avail much means: to succeed, to prevail, to overcome and to be able to do something. It also means: to be strong against an opposing force, to be helpful and to make an impact. Again, to avail means: to strike an impression, to be effective and to accomplish much.
