READ: Exodus 33:10-17

And he said unto him, If thy presence go not with me, carry us not up hence. …And the Lord said unto Moses, I will do this thing also that thou hast spoken: for thou hast found grace in my sight, and I know thee by name.” – Exodus 33:15-17

It is important to be conscious of the need for the presence of God. Most people are concerned about their perfume or their make up or their outward appearance. What you need is the presence of God.

Moses was very aware of the need to have God’s presence. His prayers contained strong requests for the presence of God. He even told God he would not continue in the ministry without that presence.

And Moses said unto the Lord, See, thou sayest unto me, Bring up this people: and thou hast not let me know whom thou wilt send with me. Yet thou hast said, I know thee by name, and thou hast also found grace in my sight. Now therefore, I pray thee, if I have found grace in thy sight, shew me now thy way, that I may know thee, that I may find grace in thy sight: and consider that this nation is thy people. And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest. And he said unto him, If thy presence go not with me, carry us not up hence. Exodus 33:12-15

Jesus taught us to ask for God’s presence. He said it was the great and good gift that the Father would give to His children if they only asked for it.

If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him? Luke 11:13

Let us begin to ask for the presence of God specifically. God’s presence is what you need. The Father is willing to let His presence be with us if we only learn to ask for it. Those who ask for the presence of God have the presence of God.
