READ: Daniel 9:21-27
Seeing his days are determined, the number of his months are with thee, thou hast appointed his bounds that he cannot pass;
Job 14:5
The length of life is also another predetermined matter. When you are born, the number of days that you will live are determined. God decides how long He wants you to live on this earth. Indeed, there are some things that can lengthen your life or shorten it. When you arrive in a country, you are given a certain number of days that you can live there. Sometimes you are given two weeks to stay. Sometimes you are given three months to stay there.
In the same way, when you arrive in this world, a spiritual passport is stamped with the number of days that you will live. The scripture is clear. Your days are determined and the number of months that you will live is known by God. You cannot pass those boundaries!
…and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.
…and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.
Daniel 9:26-27
Desolations were determined on the land of Israel because of their sins. There are many calamities and tragedies that cannot be prevented because they are determined. We have watched as the world is overwhelmed by calamity after calamity. Wars, volcanoes, pandemics, poverty, droughts and earthquakes are constantly ravaging the planet. Indeed, many desolations are determined already.
God has determined that the earth will go through these labour pangs. Why are these things determined? There are many things we do not understand. There are many judgments that this earth and its rebellious population of unbelievers must experience before the world comes to an end. You and I must trust God to implement His sovereign plan.
