READ: Genesis 17:1-9
So Abram departed, as the LORD had spoken unto him; and Lot went with him: and Abram was seventy and five years old when he departed out of Haran.
Genesis 12:4
Abraham was called by God at the age of seventy-five. At that point God told him that he was going to become a great nation. He received the call of God in which he was blessed to become a blessing. Everyone who blessed Abraham would be blessed and everyone who cursed Abraham would be cursed (Genesis 12:1-4).
Abraham received yet another “Word of my patience” when he was ninety years old. At this stage he was given a call of God in which there would be great multiplication (Genesis 17:1-8). Today, many people have received the call of God and the promise of God for great multiplication. Many people have heard from the Holy Spirit that He would increase them and multiply them greatly. This is a “Word of my patience”. It is important to recognize that the call of God and the promise of God for multiplication always requires patience.
Twenty-five years after receiving the first call of God, Abraham began to see signs that he could become what God had told him he would become. Remember that Abraham was seventy-five years old when God told him to move away from his family so that He could bless him. Abraham was a hundred years old when his son, Isaac, was born (Genesis 21:1-5).
