THIRD VOICES
READ: Deuteronomy 13:1-4
And it shall come to pass, if ye shall hearken diligently unto my commandments which I command you this day, to love the Lord your God, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul,
Deuteronomy 11:13
If you love the Lord, you will not listen to other voices, nor will you obey anyone in place of the Lord. Loving others instead of loving the Lord turns into a curse.
The Holy Spirit is one with the Father. He speaks of things He knows and things He has seen. Whenever there is a third voice, a relationship is not secure. Beware of the third voice. Any voice in your life that is different from the voice of God is the third voice, which can lead you astray.
There are many third voices in this life. In Adam’s situation, his wife was a third and dangerous voice to him (Genesis 3:17-18). Eve destroyed the relationship that Adam had with God. Eve also had a good relationship with God. Eve would fellowship with the Lord God every day and in the cool of the day. The devil was the third voice that came in between Eve and her Lord.
I have had good relationships that were destroyed by the presence of a third party, a third voice. These third parties were lurking in the shadows, whispering and murmuring constantly behind my back. By their whisperings and mutterings, my good relationship with people was destroyed. Beware of third parties! Marriage in the law books is described as a relationship that exists to the exclusion of all others. Your marriage is not likely to succeed if you do not conduct it to the exclusion of others.
Who is destroying your relationship with God? Do not allow a third party to destroy your relationship with the Lord. No matter how good and sincere these third voices seem to be, you must not listen to them if they are taking you away from God.
