READ: 1 John 5:1-3
He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
John 14:21
The commandments of God are not grievous. As you go through life, you will discover for yourself that disobeying God is far more difficult than obeying Him. Disobedience is far more grievous than obedience. Disobedience will lead you to sorrowing, regretting and mourning. Obedience will leave you elated and rejoicing at the goodness of the Lord.
Where can you find the commandments of God? His commandments are found in the Holy Scriptures. You can also find the commandments of God through the Holy Spirit. Some people despise the reading of the Bible and do not consider it to be a powerful means of hearing from God.
God always makes sure that you receive His commandments. He that has my commandments and does them is the one who loves me. God makes sure that you get to know His will. Once you are aware of the will of God, you can no longer plead ignorance. There are many Christians who do not know certain things. Often, God winks at our ignorance. He ignores us because we are ignorant.
And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:
Acts 17:30
Once you have his commandments you can no longer claim that you are ignorant of His will.
Jesus answered and said unto him, if a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
John 14:23
