HEALING & HEALTH
READ: Luke 4:14-41
Is there no balm in Gilead; is there no physician there? Why then is not the health of the daughter of my people recovered?
Jeremiah 8:22
You can become a source of healing by praying for the sick. God is interested in the sick and the suffering people of this world. Through your prayers, healing and deliverance will come to many people.
The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
Luke 4:18
On many occasions I have felt the Lord telling me to pray for the sick. Healing is on the heart of God! Jesus said that He was anointed to heal the broken-hearted. We must believe in the ministry of healing. It is a real ministry! Many people are comforted when hands are laid on them.
Building hospitals and practising medicine is also God’s mercy to mankind.
The harvest is past, the summer is ended, and we are not saved. For the hurt of the daughter of my people am I hurt; I am black; astonishment hath taken hold on me. Is there no balm in Gilead; is there no physician there? Why then is not the health of the daughter of my people recovered?
Jeremiah 8:20-22
When Adam and Eve fell into sin, God mercifully showed them how to make clothes out of leaves. God helped fallen man to climb out of the hole into which he had fallen. God wants to show mercy to mankind by ministering through hospitals, doctors and nurses. The science which makes the practice of medicine possible is also the gift of God.
