READ: Jeremiah 2:1-13

I remember how eager you were to please me as a young bride long ago, how you loved me and followed me even through the barren wilderness.
Jeremiah 2:2, NLT

If you love the Lord, you will have feelings for Him. Love without feelings and without passion is not good love. It is not easy to love people who do not show any feelings or passion. Some people are simply unemotional and bland. Although it seems like a minor thing, experiencing love without feelings is a difficult thing. Being married to someone who is undemonstrative and unexciting may seem like a trivial problem, it is not. It is a tragedy of enormous proportion.

Indeed, one definition of a dragon is “a strict and watchful woman”. Who would like to be married to a strict and watchful person who, instead of showing desire, pleasure and happiness, has turned into a strict and watchful overseer? That is what it means to be married to a dragon! Many couples have ceased from “the love of thy espousals.”

If you love the Lord, you will be like a young bride who is eager to please God. If you love the Lord, you will follow him anywhere. If you love the Lord, there will be feelings, there will be passion, there will be joy, there will be sounds, there will be noise, there will be jumping and there will be dancing. There will be excitement! There will be smiles! There will be laughter! It is time to love the Lord with feelings!

Dignity is not a fruit of the Holy Spirit. Joy is a fruit of the Holy Spirit. It is better to have joy than to have dignity. The joy of the Lord is your strength. The joy of the Lord is a source of strength for you. The joy of the Lord is not your weakness. The fact that you are joyful and passionate does not make you weaker, it makes you stronger!
