You must study books about the ministry! You cannot just read newspapers if you want to be a minister.
Apostle Paul taught many things about the ministry. Not everybody was qualified to hear what he had to say about ministry. There are things that he wrote specifically to a minister of the gospel. He wrote letters that we call First Timothy, Second Timothy and Titus. Those books contain the special knowledge that is needed for ministry. Educating yourself with these books is key to preparing for the gospel of Jesus Christ. Every man of God must study books in the Bible that are specially related to ministers.
Every minister must have special books that he uses to educate himself with special knowledge – knowledge is needed for ministry. Apostle Paul was very concerned about getting his books and parchments (2 Timothy 4:13). These books and parchments were critical to his ministry. They contained special knowledge about the ministry. The books and parchments of a man of God are his most treasured possession. Through books and parchments, you receive special information that will guide you.
One day, I was waiting on the Lord in another country. I sought the Lord to heal me of my troubles that I had encountered by virtue of the fact that I was in the ministry. I was experiencing the “fires” of affliction and troubles that would not go away.
The house in which I was staying had a beautiful open balcony from where I could see all that was happening downstairs. A bookshelf that was downstairs caught my eye. I picked and opened a book which had special knowledge about the ministry. I received a lot of comfort and direction by reading that strange book from the shelf. You need special books to educate you!
