READ: Acts 8:26-38
CALL NOW, IF THERE BE ANY THAT WILL ANSWER THEE; AND TO WHICH OF THE SAINTS WILT THOU TURN? For wrath killeth the foolish man, and envy slayeth the silly one.
Job 5:1-2
God is looking for someone who can answer questions! People have questions to ask. People want to understand what is happening. Why did this happen to me? Am I a good person or a bad person? Is God angry with me? Am I under a curse?
Many years ago, I entered a prayer meeting where I heard some charismatic Christians praying. I found it so funny that I burst out laughing. I laughed and laughed at their expressions and sounds. I was not used to these expressions and sounds. I had only been to churches where there was absolute silence throughout the service. In those churches everyone prayed in their heads and no one spoke out loud.
To hear people making sounds and expressing some kind of feeling or emotion towards God whilst they were praying was a shock to me. I found it pretentious and I thought it was not real. After laughing however, I began to feel terrible. I felt I had sinned against the Holy Ghost. I became worried that I had crossed the line and committed the unpardonable sin.
It was only after I asked an older Christian that he explained to me that I had not sinned against the Holy Ghost, and that I could still be forgiven. If I had not had someone to answer my questions, I would have walked away from God and never looked back because I would have assumed that I was condemned. Thank God that there are people to answer your questions. God is looking for someone who will answer the questions of young people.
