READ: 1 Chronicles 22:7-19
He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
1 John 3:8
Why did Jesus come into this world? Why was Jesus manifested? To destroy the works of the devil! If Jesus came to this world to destroy the works of the devil, then you must imitate Him to destroy the works of the devil. To destroy the works of the devil, you must locate the devil. Where can you locate the devil but at his gate?
Destroying the enemy in front of his house is destroying the enemy at the gates of hell. Destroying the enemy at the gates of hell is the same as building the church.
You have also come into the world to destroy the works of the devil. You will notice that unless you defeat the enemy and gain control, you will not be able to build the church. When you destroy the works of the devil and silence the voice of the slanderer, the accuser and the opposer and the deceiver, you will have peace and rest all around. When you have gained that peace and rest you will be able to build effectively. Notice the scripture below:
Behold, a son shall be born to thee, who shall be a man of rest; and I WILL GIVE HIM REST FROM ALL HIS ENEMIES ROUND ABOUT: for his name shall be Solomon, and I WILL GIVE PEACE AND QUIETNESS UNTO ISRAEL IN HIS DAYS. HE SHALL BUILD AN HOUSE FOR MY NAME; and he shall be my son, and I will be his father; and I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel for ever.
1 Chronicles 22:9-10
As you can see, peace and quietness are necessary if you are to build the house of God. It was only because Solomon had peace and rest that he was able to build the house of God.
