READ: John 2:12-17
One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple.
Psalm 27:4
Jesus loved the house of God. Everyone who loves God will love His house. Your love for something is revealed by your responses to it. Your reaction to someone being violated reveals how much you love the person. Jesus’ reaction to His Father’s house being violated revealed how much He loved His father’s house. Wicked businessmen, moneychangers and money launderers had filled the temple. Jesus made a scourge of small cords and drove them out. The reaction of Jesus to the violation of His father’s house revealed His love for God. Anyone who loves God will love the house of God and will fight for it.
If you love the Lord, you will see His greatness when you go to His house. If you love someone, you will see the good things of the person. If you love someone, you will see good things only. If you hate someone, you will see bad things only.
Those who hate me see all my faults. Those who dislike me find something wrong with my preaching, my teaching and my ministry. The pastors under me, who love me, are filled with eyes of admiration. My mockers and scoffers see many things I do as negative and as evil. It is amazing! If you love someone, he cannot go wrong. When you love someone, everything about him is beautiful.
The beauty of the Lord is what is seen when God lovers go to His temple. Those who have eyes to see, see the beauty of God. You will notice more nice things about God, as you love Him more.
