READ: John 14:21-26
That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.
Ephesians 3:17-19
If you are rooted and grounded in love, you comprehend the length and depth and height. Going deeper in love opens you up to heights and depths that you have never known before. What does this mean?
Most people do things without having a love for it. If you love being a doctor, you will discover the length and depth and height of it. You will go as far as you can go in studies, in research, in acquiring degrees, in acquiring knowledge and in acquiring experience. When I was in medical school, I had some classmates who really loved medicine. They were so excited to be training to become doctors. They did everything to know the length and depth and breadth of medicine.
I did not have that love for the medical course I was doing. I wanted to do the basic minimum and get away with it. I was not rooted and grounded in love for the medical career. I loved God and the ministry more. That is where I went deeper.
When you are rooted and grounded in love for something, you start to look for the length and the breadth and the height and the depth of it. Do more by loving more: Love God and you will go deeper. Love the Father more! When you love the Father in heaven you will try to obey Him. To Almighty God, love is obedience and obedience is love!
The more you love God, the more obedient you will be. If you have great love for the Father, you will search for the depth and length and height and breadth of obedience in God. You will seek to be the most obedient child of God just because of your love for God.
