God is looking for someone who knows how to pray. A mediator is someone who will pray for hours and beg for the salvation of souls. No one will be saved without intercession.
Even if I washed myself with soap and my hands with cleansing powder, you would plunge me into a slime pit so that even my clothes would detest me. “He is not a mere mortal like me that I might answer him, that we might confront each other in court. IF ONLY THERE WERE SOMEONE TO MEDIATE BETWEEN US, SOMEONE TO BRING US TOGETHER, someone to remove God’s rod from me, so that his terror would frighten me no more. Then I would speak up without fear of him, but as it now stands with me, I cannot.
Job 9:30-35 (NIV)
There are a lot of people with good ideas. There are a lot of people with a good education. There are a lot of people with degrees. But there are not many people who can intercede for another. The Lord needs somebody who can pray for three hours. The Lord needs somebody who can pray for seven hours every day.
I once sent missionaries somewhere. They were not able to get good results on the mission field. I found out that they spent hours watching movies, instead of praying. The Lord is not in need of those who can watch movies. There are thousands of people who can watch movies all day long. The Lord is in need of somebody who can pray and intercede until God moves on our behalf.
“Lord, I know You need somebody who will become an intercessor between God and men. Lord, I know You need somebody to mediate for the people. Please use me as a mediator!”
