A born-again Christian is someone who has personally received Jesus Christ into his life and is determined to live a life controlled by the word of God and under the guidance of the Spirit of God.

Being born again is not an attitude. It is a definite experience that everyone must have, if they intend to go to Heaven.

You must first believe in Jesus Christ as the Son of God.

"Whosoever believeth that Jesus Christ is born of God..."
 1 John 5:1

Secondly, you must ask Him to come into your heart and your life and confess Him as Lord.

"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." Romans 10:9
