DAY ONE:
Hi again to you all…
This time from Chennai, India where I have been invited to minister at a program organized by Rev Dr Mohan, the Senior Pastor and founder of the New Life Assemblies of God. Honestly, I have been looking forward to visiting India and I feel very blessed to be finally here.
This morning’s session began at 10am (Chennai time) and was specially organized for the missionaries who had been sent out by the church. There were over 200 of them gathered from all over India and Sri Lanka.
The preaching was translated into Tamil as I shared with them on “8 Reasons Why Every Leader Must Be A Reader” from my book, THE ART OF LEADERSHIP.
I told them that, authors are usually great men who have a lot to share. A good leader knows that he may not have the opportunity to meet with certain people, so he makes use of the books they have written.
The greatest leaders of all time were readers. Biblical examples of this were Paul and Daniel. Daniel the prophet was a leader and he was an avid reader. According to Daniel 9:2, we know that Daniel was somebody who read Jeremiah’s books. Another avid reader worth emulating was Paul. Paul, as we know(2Tim 4: 13), sent for his books and his parchments. They obviously were very important to him.
Reading is one of the most essential habits of every leader so, if you do not read, please do not try to lead anyone. Reading is essential for leadership.
After preaching, I gave out free copies of THE ART OF LEADERSHIP to all the conference participants who could read English.
Tomorrow, I’m preaching both for the morning and evening sessions. I hope to be able to upload some pictures soon so you can see for yourself how it is going here.
Till then….be blessed!
DAY TWO:
My second day in Chennai began with preparing for and preaching at the morning session of the conference. This morning, I preached about “Why Loyalty” and the “Stages of Disloyalty” from my book LOYALTY AND DISLOYALTY.
You may ask, “Why teach on the subject “Loyalty and Disloyalty”? I believe the Lord has laid on my heart this practical subject for various reasons. First of all, I have seen the relevance of this subject in the Word of God. The Scriptures are replete with accounts of faithful and treacherous people and there is a lot to learn from these accounts in the Bible.
My few years in the ministry have also made me very aware of loyal and disloyal people. I have noticed the impact that it has on churches and ministries. Many of our churches today are a fraction of what they should be because of the lack of loyalty. I can say for sure that without principled and loyal pastors, the ministry of our Lord will always be limited and every network or denomination of churches will constantly undergo disintegration.
Well, I was also blessed to be able to give out free copies of the newly released second edition of my book “Mega Church” to the conference participants. It is my sincere desire and prayer that all pastors and missionaries will be blessed with mega churches.
Tonight’s session was a healing service for the general church and it was held in the main church auditorium. I preached from Acts 10:38, prayed for the sick and took some testimonies at the end of the service.
I will be preaching again tomorrow. Keep praying for us here.
PS: Did I tell you that out of India’s population of over 1.2 billion, only 2.3% of them are Christian? What a shock! There is so much work to be done.
FINAL DAY:
I have had a blessed time ministering here in Chennai, India at the New Life Assemblies of God Church. It has been quite an interesting experience. I want to specially thank my host Dr Mohan for inviting me and being so gracious to my entire team and me. We have enjoyed our time here. The reception has been warm and welcoming and the responses to the preaching of the Word and the books have been great.
I thank God for the opportunity to come to India to minister His Word and blessing of being honored for it. I feel blessed and very privileged.
Well, today has been a totally preaching day for me here at the New Life Assemblies of God Church her in Chennai. I ministered for six services. All the services were full with over 5000 members attending. At the end of each service, the members are literally driven out the auditorium to allow to the next service to start. The church is a truly a mega church.
The first service began at 5:30 am (Chennai time) and I shared with them about the“Examples of Those Who Moved into the Imperfect Will of God” from my book, HOW TO BE IN THE PERFECT WILL OF GOD.
All through the Bible, you will find examples of God allowing men to do what they wanted to do even though it was not His perfect will for them. Most of the time, God’s people were full of rebellion and hatred for the perfect will of God. Instead of passing on an immediate judgment, God would allow His people to stray into His imperfect (inappropriate, improper, unacceptable, non-ideal) will and then receive a sound and fitting thrashing for their rebelliousness!
We must therefore be careful of what we force God to give us because we may not be happy with the attendant punishments that go with insisting on our own way. You must desire and fight to be and stay in the perfect will of God for your life.
My final service for the day, which was the 6th service, began at 6pm. I preached about“Seven Steps to An Anointing You Can Feel”. It was a blessed and powerful time in the presence of the Lord.
