Buba has a population of about 7000 people. It takes only about a minute to drive through the town. The people are predominantly fishermen and petty traders. However, Jesus also came to seek and save them! Although many would hardly visit a town so distant and small, we believe that no town is too small, far or poor for them not to hear the gospel!
The Whole Town Gathered!
Virtually everyone in the town came to the school field in the center of the town to hear Evangelist Dag Heward-Mills preach the Word of God. Several hours before the first night people could be seen scrambling for seats.
Evangelist Dag preached about Jesus Christ the Savior and Healer, and made a passionate invitation to repentance and salvation through Jesus Christ. Virtually everyone took a decision to receive Jesus in their lives. Seeing the individuals who make up the multitudes surrendering their lives to God is always a reminder that all the effort and battles to reach them are worth it. Alleluia!
It was of particular interest that despite the rather small size of Buba and the fact that there were only a handful of pastors in and around the town, a Pastors’ Conference was held there. Evangelist Dag Heward-Mills spent two days teaching the local pastors and sharing his rich experience on Church Growth and the Work of the Ministry. Each pastor and church worker received a set of free copies of the Evangelists books and DVD sermons.
