The Sweet Influences of the Holy Spirit on Your Willingness and Eagerness

by Pastor Dag Heward-MIlls

And they came, every one whose heart stirred him up, and every one whom his spirit made willing, and they brought the Lord’s offering to the work of the tabernacle of the congregation, and for all his service, and for the holy garments.

Exodus 35:21

Without the influence of the Holy Spirit most people grumble when they have to do something.  They complain, they murmur, they go on strike and exhibit many different forms of discontentment.  It is hard to find a workplace without discontented and grumbling employees.  Such is the nature of man without the influence of the Holy Spirit.

Our churches are equally filled with discontented, grumbling and criticizing members.  Most of these murmurers are filled with evil spirits like the complaining Israelites who followed Moses.

This is why we need the Holy Spirit to fill our churches.  The Holy Spirit imparts a different attitude.  The Holy Spirit imparts eagerness and willingness to people.  Satan and his demonic hordes impart discontentment, criticism and accusations!

Willingness and eagerness are true spiritual qualities that come from the Holy Spirit.

When you are under the influence of the Holy Spirit you will be willing because the Holy Spirit makes you willing and eager.  The children of Israel were willing to give offerings because the Holy Spirit had touched their hearts to make them willing givers. There is no need to coerce people to give money.   God will touch their hearts and they will give when the Holy Spirit has made them willing.

But my servant Caleb, because he had another spiriT with him, and hath followed me fully, him will I bring into the land whereinto he went; and his seed shall possess it.

Numbers 14:24

The Bible is clear about the source of Caleb’s eagerness.

When you are under the influence of the Holy Spirit you will be willing and eager. Caleb was eager because he was under the influence of the Holy Spirit.
