For several weeks, I have been sharing with you on the subject of “Jesus Christ and his Granting of Private Interviews”. I continued that topic at this past Sunday’s First Love Gathering Service. You can listen to that message on my podcast. Today, I would like to share with you about “The Spirit like a Dove.” I want you to listen carefully and you will be blessed.

And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him. And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.” (John 1:32-33). Today, I am basically sharing with you about operating in the anointing. When I say operating, I mean maneuvering, relating with and walking in step with the Holy Spirit. Now, I am quite sure, because of the reports I have heard, that heaven and the spirit realm are completely different from what we know on earth. So, I realize that that may be the reason why we cannot easily relate with spirits. When the Bible says, the mad man had a legion of demons in him, which is about 6,150 foot soldiers and 725 horsemen, that is a lot of spirits in one person. From that, it seems like spirits do not need much space. So, I am not surprised that God will help us relate with the Holy Spirit by likening him to certain things we can relate with. When you can relate to those things, you can relate with the Holy Spirit. That is why the Bible says that the Spirit was like a bird, specifically, like a dove. So, if we want the Holy Spirit in our lives, then it means that we want something like a dove to descend upon us.

If you want the anointing to come upon you, then you must understand how to relate with God and specifically like the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is different from God and Jesus Christ. And he sent forth a raven, which went forth to and fro, until the waters were dried up from off the earth. Also he sent forth a dove from him, to see if the waters were abated from off the face of the ground; But the dove found no rest for the sole of her foot, and she returned unto him into the ark…and again he sent forth the dove out of the ark;…And the dove came in to him in the evening; and, lo, in her mouth was an olive leaf pluckt off: And he stayed yet other seven days; and sent forth the dove; which returned not again unto him any more” (Genesis 8:7-12). Now, the Spirit is very particular about where he lands. You see in this passage, in verse 7, you notice that the raven did not care to land his foot on dead bodies. That is why he was sent and never came back. He was a lost cause. However, the dove was very sensitive. That is why she found no rest for the sole of her feet. The spirit of the dove descends and finds no rest for his foot. Sometimes, God wants to anoint somebody but the dove says “no, not here.” It is all well and good to shout “anointing, fall on me”, but the spirit is sensitive. Sometimes, there is an entire church but the spirit cannot find one person to land on and returns. If you want the Holy Spirit, remember that He is very particular about who he rests on. May you become a person habitable for the spirit like a dove!
