For weeks, I have shared with you about the spiritual determinants. I have shared with you on speed, strength, wisdom, understanding and favor. There is one determinant I would like for all of us to remember from that series and it is the spiritual determinant of the blessing. When you are blessed it determines the outcome of your life. Even when you are down but blessed, you will continue in life according to your blessing. The greater the authority of the person speaking over you, the greater the effect of the blessing or curse. That is why God’s words over Adam and Eve about the way they would sweat still plays out today. Nobody can escape that curse. Even the most successful doctors, lawyers and pastors cannot escape it.

Today, I want us all to learn a simple spiritual practice that may determine more for us than our status, who our parents are or anything we have learnt in school. This spiritual determinant is the ability to say “AMEN”. This is a simple habit that seems so trivial and frivolous but it plays a big role in our lives. Never let a blessing pass by you without releasing your Amen “net” to catch them. When blessings are spoken on people, they do not realize that they are being blessed and it passes by them. Before they realize it, that blessing is being fulfilled in the life of someone who was sitting behind them. It is not just about saying Amen but even the attitude with which you say it and believe it. A lot of people shout but do not say amen, they make noise but do not say amen, they are happy but do not say amen.  When you say Amen, let these things that have been spoken be so, proclaim it with a capturing power and believe that you have received the blessing and it shall be so in your life. The Bible does not allow books to pass by without concluding them with Amen so how much more you? Today marks the last day you allow blessings to pass over your life. Your life is practically being transformed because you have believed and proclaimed “Amen”!

I am pleased to announce that our annual Homecoming Convention has taken off! Today was the first day of our convention where thousands of people from Lighthouse churches all over the world traveled to back to Accra, Ghana where it all began. We are excited and expectant.  I believe that this year’s homecoming will be life changing and that the expectation of the righteous shall surely not be cut off. If you are not able to attend this year’s conference, you can still tune in to watch the convention on live-stream at every morning at 6am GMT and evening at 6pm GMT.

Over the past few days I have been in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe where I was invited by Apostle Colin Nyathi to minister at a conference of the Harvest House International Church.

I was also blessed to be given the honor of consecrating the Apostle into the office of a Bishop and ordaining twenty-three of his pastors, including his wife, as Reverend ministers.

You may ask “why do we consecrate Bishops and ordain ministers?” The answer is simply because order, systems and structures are necessary for continuity of any church.

Satan’s aim is that the church will not continue but our aim must be that the church should and will work. The church is greater than a man and it must continue to go on after we are dead and gone.

For this reason, we must set things in order in the church because when there is order, there is continuity.

May the Lord bless Bishop Colin Nyathi and his pastoral team as they continue to advance the kingdom of God and may the church of God continue to march on from victory to victory. Amen!

What does it mean to walk in love? To walk in love is to inspire others to also love. Love inspires so when you walk in love you inspire other people. 1 John 4:11 tells us that God loves us so we must also love one another.  If we are experiencing God’s love then it should inspire us to love each other. This is why a lot of people love Jesus Christ, because He has loved us. To walk in love is to set off a chain reaction of love. When a chain reaction is set off, you find out that it sets off more reactions. So when you love someone it gets to a point where the person is no longer left with an option but to love you. This is how boys successfully chase girls. WHAT A SHOCK!

Also, to walk in love is to have God in you or the anointing in you. “No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.” (1 John 4:12). One of the things about an anointed person is love. You cannot be anointed without having love because the anointing is God and God himself is love. If you have love and walk in it, there is anointing in you and also power. The anointing is God’s nature so why would He anoint wickedness? If you are constantly quarreling. backbiting, rebelling, creating confusion and breaking up churches ask yourself this question “is God really in me?”

Love is something you must be able to believe. 1 John 4:16 says “And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us…” Your love towards others must be believable! As we walk around we hear a lot of people saying “I love you”. We have said it so much that it is like saying twinkle twinkle little star because there is no evidence that backs that statement of “I love you”. God backed His love for us by sending us His son. Love is not just about words but in deed, in action, in doing and in truth (1 John 3:18).

May the Lord touch us to love Him and to walk in His love.

“Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.” – Ephesians 5:1-2

Love is something that a lot of people talk and sing about. Many many songs are love songs because it is something that we as human beings desire, fantasize and yearn for. Love can be imperfect and directed. There are many ways to love.

You must not love like Cain did. You must not love with territorial love, terminator love or eliminator love. This form of love is basically the type that you find in wild animals (1 John 3:14). If you study certain animals such as lions and dogs, you see them marking their territory with urine. If any of their fellow lions or dogs cross that territory they are done for. We have certain people who practice this kind of love. If you cross their area of “my husband” or “my beloved” you will be eliminated.

An absence of love means that you are dead. 1 John 3:14 tells us that whoever does not abide in love is dead! Wherever there is no love, it is always like living in a place of death. So do not marry someone because they have money or can give you a green card but marry because of love. Even those who marry with love do not have an easy time in their marriage so to marry without the presence of love is guaranteed death. This is why it is difficult to serve God without loving Him. Things that are not done with love are extremely difficult to like and continue in.

The Bible says in Ecclesiastes 3:1 that there is a season to everything and by God’s grace this season of Healing Jesus Campaigns has come to an end. The campaign team over the past seventeen days been in Togo and Benin preaching Christ night after night and what a blessing it has been! God has continued to be faithful winning the lost at all cost and changing the lives of the individuals in the countries we have visited.
The more places we visit, the more we realize how much work there is to be done. The harvest is certainly plenteous but the laborers are few. There are fields of souls awaiting the gospel but who will go to them with this good news? You will never realize the number of souls that exist until you begin to move out of your home. At the end of this season of the Healing Jesus Campaigns, I want to thank God for giving us traveling mercies and allowing us to visit 100 towns, cities and villages throughout West Africa. We have, by the grace of God, had 55 campaigns in Ghana alone and 45 in the other West African countries (Cape Verde and Mauritania excluded).  We are blessed and honored to be chosen as ambassadors for God’s kingdom.

We look forward to moving out into Central, East and Southern Africa soon. God bless all our partners worldwide who have been a major support to this great work. You too, have a share in our reward. May God bless and remember you.

The Sokode Healing Jesus Campaign was originally scheduled for 2 nights but after witnessing the willing hearts and encouraging response of the people on the first night, it was extend to a third day.

As I write, the campaign trucks and buses are headed to Benin for the campaigns that will begin tomorrow, 28th May. We are believing God for great salvation and greater miracles.

I want take this time to thank all the wonderful pastors of Sokode for welcoming us, cooperating with us and supporting us throughout our time here. They have been a great blessing to me and the team.

“Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet smelling savour. But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints; Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks” – Ephesians 5:1-4

Love is a very important area of our lives. That is why we have a lot of problems in relationships and inter-relationships. What does it mean to walk in love? You can learn about what it means to walk in love by looking at what it does not mean. According to Ephesians 5, to walk in love does not mean to have sex. The Bible tells us to walk in love as Christ did. Obviously, Christ did not sleep with us so having sex does not mean that you are walking in love. This explains why people can have sex with each other and later kill each other. To walk in love means to have a godly characteristic and to depart from the ways of a wild animal.

When someone comes close to you, they should feel love emanating from you. Your true godliness is measured by the amount of Christian love found in you. It is not determined by the amount of prayer because God does not pray. If you want to be like God, it is not prayer but love that must be found within you. To walk in love is do something that the other person perceives as love. We all understand and interpret what love means differently. That is why if you love someone, you must love them according to their definition of love and not yours. God tells us that if we love Him, we should keep His commandments. To God, loving Him means obeying His commandments.

May God grant you the grace to walk in true love. Blessings!

A Virtuous Woman – The Three Strengths of A Woman

Mothers Day is a special day dedicated to celebrating women. In the Bible, we are given the characteristics of a good mother in Proverbs 31.  This passage in Proverbs is unique in that it is spoken by a mother of what a good woman is supposed to be. Proverbs 31 has become one of the most read passages by both men and women. The beauty of women comes not only from how God made them, but also from the fact that they are the weaker vessels. The destruction of a woman comes from her weakness but her niceness, beauty and attraction are also derived from that same weakness.

When you read Proverbs 31, you find out that there are a lot of  characteristics that make a woman virtuous. First of all, to have virtue (Chayil) means to have strength, efficiency and ability. The virtuous woman has a certain level of strength. She rises up before everyone and is very active even before the day starts. She is up before the sun comes up and is not lazily in bed sleeping till noon. The Bible says “She riseth also while it is yet night..”. The virtuous woman is not found snoring in bed past afternoon. She is up preparing for the day and preparing things for her household even before sunrise.

The passage goes on to say in verse 17, “ She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms.”. A virtuous woman is very active and strong, even in her intimate life with her husband. What a shock! A virtuous woman isn’t dull and passive about life! A virtuous woman is also filled with wisdom! The Bible says, “She openeth her mouth with wisdom..”. She isn’t empty and shallow. She is filled with the Word of God and she is able to give advice not based on wise sayings but on the Word of God.

Women, begin to ask yourself, “Am I a virtuous woman?”, “Do I carry the characteristics of a virtuous woman?”

I see you becoming virtuous! I see you becoming a blessing to your household! Happy Mother’s Day!

The parable of the sower is one of the well known parables of the Bible. After Jesus preached about the parable of the sower the people’s response was this, “whence has this man this wisdom and these mighty works” (Matthew 13:54). In Matthew 13:3 Jesus said “a sower went out to sow”. The kingdom of God is what we are all involved in today and Jesus used the parable of the sower and the mustard seed to better explain this to us. Colossians 1:13 says that we are translated from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of His dear son Jesus. This means that there are only two countries in this world, the kingdom of darkness and the kingdom of heaven. So you must either have a kingdom of heaven or darkness passport. If you are going to do well you must have a passport to the kingdom of heaven.

Every country you step into has its own rules which you must obey if you want to be happy there. In the same way, the kingdom of heaven is governed by rules. One of these rules is the principle of sowing seeds. So if you come into God’s kingdom, you must respect the ministry of sowing seeds. If you want to do well, you have to know that the kingdom of God is like sowing a seed. One of the greatest wisdom keys is the key of the seed. The seed is the greatest wisdom and law in the kingdom of God.  When it is first planted, it cannot be seen but when it grows it becomes a big tree. That is the way to harvest, increase and multiply. In the kingdom of God you must respect small things and have eyes for them because they are the most powerful things.

In the kingdom of God, the way up is the way down. If you want to be great, you must be willing to first go down. Nobody can go up in the kingdom of God unless they go down (die to themselves). When God first called me to work for Him, I had to first go down by enduring the shame and despising of others. I had to leave my profession as a doctor, which is more respected in this world, to become a pastor of children and students. Today, the church is working by the grace of God.

Let us learn to respect the rules that govern the kingdom of God. May the principle of sowing become a part of our lives each and everyday.
