If Jesus was standing right next to you? What would you ask Him? About His travel plans for your life or His plans of prosperity in your life? One of the best and wisest questions was asked of Jesus in Matthew 22:36 and I am so glad that this individual asked. “Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment” (Matthew 22:36-38). Jesus said that there is nothing else like this commandment in the entire world or Bible. There is nothing more important than becoming someone who loves God. No job, amount of money, full or lay ministry, husband or wife is greater than loving God.

“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind” (2 Timothy 1:7). Loving God involves the spirit of love.” And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us” (Romans 5:5). Loving God is something that is imparted unto us. It is one of the highest prayers one can pray, to love God. People do not actually love God. They love the things He gives to them but do not actually love Him. People do not love God because they love other things. What do people love as opposed to God?

Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world” (1 John 2:15). The love of the world is something that draws people away from loving God. The love of this world deletes that love of God in you. One way to get yourself to love God is to delete all the alternatives that have been presented to you. If loving God is the greatest commandment, it must have the greatest reward. There is nothing more beneficial in this world than loving God. If you are not prayerful but you love God, I believe you may be even more blessed than a prayerful person. Just think about it, who would you prefer? Someone who loves you dearly and never asks for anything or an individual who asks you for a lot of things but does not love you? An individual always saying “give me, give me, give me” or someone who has dreamy eyes for you? May you have dreamy eyes for God! What are the things of the world? Expensive cars, lavish houses, the USA, Germany, Australia, money. It is not easy to love two people. One must go out for another to have its rightful place. From today, the love of the world is out of you.

“And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit (Ephesians 5:18). How many of us love wine? How many love the spirit? So then, we must not be drunk with wine, but be filled with the spirit. “Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord” (Ephesians 5:19). The Bible tells us to speak to ourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs. The spiritual songs we listen to are supposed to speak to us. They are anointed songs written to speak to us. From henceforth, we must be more conscious of the songs we listen to.

This is a message for young people. Ask the next spiritual person you see if they are young. Sometimes, you see people who act and dress old but are not. They are suffering from premature aging in their mind. You can sometimes encounter young people in their twenties who behave like aunties. When you marry them, they move to another level and act like headmistresses. It is as if people have to apply for permission to do things. How many people would like to live with such a person? We must all learn to be young people at heart. Receive the word of God and the counsel it comes with.

“Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, according to the promise of life which is in Christ Jesus, To Timothy, my dearly beloved son: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord (2 Timothy 1:1-2). You do not have to be biologically related to an individual to be called a son or a daughter. Not many people grow up with the opportunity to see what is portrayed as the ideal family, mother, father and children all living together, sitting down and having dinner. How many of us can truly say we grew up under such an environment? There are many people who do not do well because they think that they did not have an ideal home. I want you to know that many people did not have this ideal home. In my experience as a pastor, I have come to realize that very few people grow up under this ideal home. What does God do take care of this? He gives us fathers, mothers and other people to make up for the deficiency that you had or currently have. You may have to accept other people to becomes fathers and mothers to you. You may also have to accept others to become sons and daughters. What I have noticed is that individuals who are extremely dependent on the biological also have some deficiencies. Even the best parents in the world have some short comings. If you do not humble yourself to relate with individuals, you will miss out on something that you are supposed to acquire in life. We are all a mixture of individuals we do not even know. Do not be so family conscious. Learn to accept fathers and mothers that God brings into your life to supplement the biological family you have. I see us all being more receptive of the fathers brought into our lives.

Today, I want to begin a new series entitled “Take Somebody Somewhere.” Take somebody somewhere is the English definition of the word leadership. To lead is to take somebody somewhere. God desires to become your leader after you are saved. He desires to take somebody, you and I, somewhere which is your long-awaited promotion. What people do not realize is that salvation is the first step in your blessing. After you are saved, you now need to be led to a good place. I want you to believe that God is waiting to take you to the place of your long-awaited promotion.

To lead somebody also means to be in charge of and to act as a guide. God desires to now be in charge of you. When you become born again, God’s intention is to act as a guide to you. This is important because most people do not know that Christianity revolves around being taken somewhere by God, God being in charge of their lives or God being their guide. Due to this lack of knowledge, people do not learn the most important thing of all which is to know the voice of God. In my opinion, the most important thing to know as a Christian is the voice of God.

“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters” (Psalms 23:1-2).

God’s leadership plan is to lead you by still waters. Still waters are good places for sheep. You do not find sheep next to dangerous places. The Bible says “he leadeth me…” so God wants to lead you. The more mature you are, the less you trust in yourself because you find out that things do not work as well when you lead yourself. Trust God’s leadership over yourself. Do not lean unto your own understanding. “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding” (Proverbs 3:5). We usually lean towards our own ways. I was recently telling someone who leans to their own understanding that they do not listen to advice. When you are such a person, no one can successfully counsel and get through to you. You learn things the hard way and come to your own conclusion that your advisor was right. This is such a difficult way to live. We only have one life to live. Why do you want to use yourself as an experiment to prove God’s words true? God already knows that His counsel is true. He does not need you as the new lamb of God to be sacrificed to prove Him right. Even in marriage, you must trust in God with all your heart. If you do not, you will never be able to have a successful marriage. If you have fifty-one percent or more of your childhood visions of marriage come to pass, it is a good marriage. However, even this fifty-one percent can never work by your own understanding. When the Bible says things such as wives submit yourselves to your husbands (Ephesians 5:22), it makes no sense. However, when you learn to submit, it will make sense. Some of the most unlovable people are those who do not submit. You do not easily love rebels and people of that nature. Learn to believe in the word of God and allow Him to become your guide. Let God lead your life to the place of your long-awaited promotion.

For two weeks, I have been sharing on how to develop the seed of greatness in you. However, today, I would like to elaborate on God’s special letter specifically written to you!

Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the saints which are at Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ Jesus: Grace be to you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:” (Ephesians 1:1-4)

This is a special letter and word from heaven. Assume that this is a special letter from God to you. One of the things you will find out that you need in the world is peace. Older people tend to seek for peace more than younger people. Grace be to you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ” (Ephesians 1:2). For Paul to wish you peace, it is from his maturity and experience. That should tell you the importance of peace in your life. Instead of seeking for excitement, seek for peace.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ” (Ephesians 1:3).

Before you become a Christian, a part of you is completely dead. You may be in the world and alive in the world but you are dead in your spirit. When you become a Christian, without knowing, your spirit is alive and you have come alive. So, seek for spiritual things because such things are connected to all other physical things. The physical things you see are made up of the spiritual blessings God has placed in your life. Why is that? Because we are told in Hebrews 11:3 that Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.” If you do not take anything out of what I am saying, remember that you are a spiritual person. Pray for spiritual things! Have an aim to have certain spiritual things and your life is going to go higher. God has blessed us with spiritual blessings. What at all can a physical blessing bring forth? Not much. Spiritual blessings will however bring about countless physical blessings. Never underrate spiritual blessings!

According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:” (Ephesians 1:4)

God has chosen you. He chose you before the foundation of the world. You may sometimes feel as though you stumbled into God accidentally but remember that you were chosen before the foundations of the world. That is why you must always pray for the will of God in your life.  Do not dwell on how you came into this world or why you came into the world. God had a plan for you! You were chosen before the foundations of this world. God chose you to be holy. Holiness is something we are afraid of. However, when something is holy, it is said to be special and set aside for a special purpose. You will always be special to God. God is making you holy. Receive grace to remain holy and to value spiritual blessings.

I have been sharing a lot about greatness because it is our year of greatness. You are going to be great in the house of the Lord. Last week, I spent some time speaking on the greatness of Abraham. Today, I would like to continue speaking on the subject of Abraham’s blessing.

“And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing” (Genesis 12:2). Abraham was promised greatness so much so that God promised to make even his name great. When you look at Abraham, there are things about him that we must follow if we want to follow in the footsteps of greatness. One of these things was Abraham’s wealth. And Abram went up out of Egypt, he, and his wife, and all that he had, and Lot with him, into the south. And Abram was very rich in cattle, in silver, and in gold. And Lot also, which went with Abram, had flocks, and herds, and tents. And the land was not able to bear them, that they might dwell together: for their substance was great, so that they could not dwell together” (Genesis 13:1-2, 5-6). This is one of the principles of economics, that the land will not be able to sustain the people in it. “And Lot lifted up his eyes, and beheld all the plain of Jordan, that it was well watered every where, before the Lord destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, even as the garden of the Lord, like the land of Egypt, as thou comest unto Zoar” (Genesis 13:10). Sometimes, you have a group of people moving together that have similar features: they are all prospering, all doing well and more, just like Abraham and Lot. However, Lot was not called. Abraham was. When there are groups together, you must know that even though they may look similar, they are not all similar or called. It is important for you to recognize greater callings in people and not to equalize yourselves. Even though I went to school at the same time with my assistant Bishops, they have never related with me as coequals. They have always recognized a great calling on my life. When you are with someone, do not allow it to get into your head and  say “we are all called.” That is the thought of an “orangu” (a disloyal person). This thought will make you disconnect yourself from the real blessing.

“And Lot lifted up his eyes, and beheld all the plain of Jordan, that it was well watered every where, before the Lord destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, even as the garden of the Lord, like the land of Egypt, as thou comest unto Zoar. But the men of Sodom were wicked and sinners before the Lord exceedingly” (Genesis 13:10,13). Lot chose a land that in the natural looked good but was full of sinful people. When you are making decisions, do not make decisions just based on natural prosperity. Do not say to yourself “this looks good so I am going to do it for financial reasons.” Even in the world, never do anything solely because of money. It is not a good aim. Those who are not focused on money in business are the ones who obtain it. Money is a very destructive goal in any endeavor. If everything is about profit, it does not work well. Receive the grace to make decisions not because they look good but because they are in alignment with God’s will for your life. You are following in Abraham’s greatness.

2017 truly is your year of greatness. You are going to be great in the sight of God this new year. Now I have been sharing with you all about greatness! Some time ago, I would have thought that when someone spoke about greatness, it would have been in relation to pride, arrogance or something of that nature. However, I have come to realize that greatness is truly something biblical. God spoke to many people telling them that they would be great and we are privileged to be related to these people.

For he shall be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink; and he shall be filled with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother’s womb” (Luke 1:15). Now these words were spoken about John the Baptist before his birth. However, Jesus also spoke saying that we would be greater than John the Baptist (Matthew 11:11). So by these words, you are great! It is difficult to believe how great you are but accept it. Remember that as many as received and as many as believed, to them he gave power to become the sons of God. So today, I am prophesying to you because through prophesies, many great things will happen to you.  He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David” (Luke 1:32). This was spoken about Jesus and in Hebrews 2:11, we are told that Jesus is not ashamed to call us brothers. The brother of a goat is a goat and the brother of a lizard is a lizard. In the same way, the brother of a great person is a great person. You are becoming great this year. I am prophesying greatness unto you as I have been commanded!

Today, I would like to continue speaking on how to be great like Abraham. Genesis 12:2 says “And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing.” Now we are clearly shown how to become a blessing in this scripture. Blessings make you great. Declarations from God make people great. Everyone must seek to be blessed and avoid things that bring about curses. What made Abraham’s blessings multiply and make him such a blessed person? If you read Genesis 12:1-2, Abraham was told to go forth to the land that God has showed him. “Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee” (Genesis 12:1). The first thing to notice is that God’s calling makes a person great. God never called somebody to demote them. So, do not reject the call of God. The genuine call of God at first looks like nothing. People who are always looking for something before believing are the people that never get anywhere with God. To please God, you must have faith! All of you who are still telling God to show you something before you move on His behalf must change. When God calls you, go! It is a sign that He really wants to bless you. You are prospering and becoming great through the prophesies in your life! (Ezra 6:14).

What does it mean to walk in love? To walk in love is to inspire others to also love. Love inspires so when you walk in love you inspire other people. 1 John 4:11 tells us that God loves us so we must also love one another.  If we are experiencing God’s love then it should inspire us to love each other. This is why a lot of people love Jesus Christ, because He has loved us. To walk in love is to set off a chain reaction of love. When a chain reaction is set off, you find out that it sets off more reactions. So when you love someone it gets to a point where the person is no longer left with an option but to love you. This is how boys successfully chase girls. WHAT A SHOCK!

Also, to walk in love is to have God in you or the anointing in you. “No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.” (1 John 4:12). One of the things about an anointed person is love. You cannot be anointed without having love because the anointing is God and God himself is love. If you have love and walk in it, there is anointing in you and also power. The anointing is God’s nature so why would He anoint wickedness? If you are constantly quarreling. backbiting, rebelling, creating confusion and breaking up churches ask yourself this question “is God really in me?”

Love is something you must be able to believe. 1 John 4:16 says “And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us…” Your love towards others must be believable! As we walk around we hear a lot of people saying “I love you”. We have said it so much that it is like saying twinkle twinkle little star because there is no evidence that backs that statement of “I love you”. God backed His love for us by sending us His son. Love is not just about words but in deed, in action, in doing and in truth (1 John 3:18).

May the Lord touch us to love Him and to walk in His love.

“Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour. But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;” – Ephesians 5:1-3

There is a reason why walking in love is very important and crucial in the Christian walk. This is because everybody is walking in something. When you go to school, you hear principles being taught, steps being given and ideologies being propounded. When you come into real life, none of these principles work because people in the world are walking in different “rivers”. In the world, the rivers that people commonly walk in are selfishness, greed, lust, hatred, unforgiveness and pride. One would think that the commandment to to go into the world would drive us into the world but that is not the case. We are driven into the world by the rivers of greed and selfishness. If you love the world, the love of the Father is not in you. This is as simple and short as that. The love of the Father IS NOT in you.

When we walk in the love of God we will be compelled to go out and preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Bible says in John 14:15 “If you love me, you will obey my commandments.” It is only when we walk in love that we are able to completely fulfill what God wants us to do. When you do not walk in love you will find it extremely difficult to go out to witness to someone. To walk in love is to respond because He also loved us. We must be willing to go the extra mile for God because He loved us enough to go the extra mile for us by sending His son to die on the Cross.

“Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.” – Ephesians 5:1-2

Love is something that a lot of people talk and sing about. Many many songs are love songs because it is something that we as human beings desire, fantasize and yearn for. Love can be imperfect and directed. There are many ways to love.

You must not love like Cain did. You must not love with territorial love, terminator love or eliminator love. This form of love is basically the type that you find in wild animals (1 John 3:14). If you study certain animals such as lions and dogs, you see them marking their territory with urine. If any of their fellow lions or dogs cross that territory they are done for. We have certain people who practice this kind of love. If you cross their area of “my husband” or “my beloved” you will be eliminated.

An absence of love means that you are dead. 1 John 3:14 tells us that whoever does not abide in love is dead! Wherever there is no love, it is always like living in a place of death. So do not marry someone because they have money or can give you a green card but marry because of love. Even those who marry with love do not have an easy time in their marriage so to marry without the presence of love is guaranteed death. This is why it is difficult to serve God without loving Him. Things that are not done with love are extremely difficult to like and continue in.

The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 4:2 that “moreover it is required in stewards that a man be found faithful.” A steward is someone who looks over affairs and in biblical terms cares for the sheep. Yesterday, I was blessed to consecrate three new stewards (Bishops) at the Lighthouse Chapel International, Qodesh in Accra Ghana. These three men, Bishop Eddie Fabin, Bishop Oko Bortei-Doku and Bishop Prince Addae, have been faithful for years in the work they have done for God. Without their helping hand in the ministry, Lighthouse Chapel International would not be where it is today. Through their work, the lives of many, whether it be through Turning Point Services, the SAVED church, Healing Jesus Campaign and more, have been touched and changed. If a man desire the office of a bishop he desireth a good work (1 Timothy 3:1). These men have desired a good work. It is my prayer that the Lord will increase the grace and favor upon their lives to continue in His work and may they continually be found faithful in the kingdom of God. It is a great honor and  privilege to present to you the latest Bishops of Lighthouse Chapel International: Bishop Eddie Fabin, Bishop Oko Bortei Doku and Bishop Prince Addae.
