“And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit (Ephesians 5:18). How many of us love wine? How many love the spirit? So then, we must not be drunk with wine, but be filled with the spirit. “Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord” (Ephesians 5:19). The Bible tells us to speak to ourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs. The spiritual songs we listen to are supposed to speak to us. They are anointed songs written to speak to us. From henceforth, we must be more conscious of the songs we listen to.

This is a message for young people. Ask the next spiritual person you see if they are young. Sometimes, you see people who act and dress old but are not. They are suffering from premature aging in their mind. You can sometimes encounter young people in their twenties who behave like aunties. When you marry them, they move to another level and act like headmistresses. It is as if people have to apply for permission to do things. How many people would like to live with such a person? We must all learn to be young people at heart. Receive the word of God and the counsel it comes with.

“Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, according to the promise of life which is in Christ Jesus, To Timothy, my dearly beloved son: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord (2 Timothy 1:1-2). You do not have to be biologically related to an individual to be called a son or a daughter. Not many people grow up with the opportunity to see what is portrayed as the ideal family, mother, father and children all living together, sitting down and having dinner. How many of us can truly say we grew up under such an environment? There are many people who do not do well because they think that they did not have an ideal home. I want you to know that many people did not have this ideal home. In my experience as a pastor, I have come to realize that very few people grow up under this ideal home. What does God do take care of this? He gives us fathers, mothers and other people to make up for the deficiency that you had or currently have. You may have to accept other people to becomes fathers and mothers to you. You may also have to accept others to become sons and daughters. What I have noticed is that individuals who are extremely dependent on the biological also have some deficiencies. Even the best parents in the world have some short comings. If you do not humble yourself to relate with individuals, you will miss out on something that you are supposed to acquire in life. We are all a mixture of individuals we do not even know. Do not be so family conscious. Learn to accept fathers and mothers that God brings into your life to supplement the biological family you have. I see us all being more receptive of the fathers brought into our lives.
