“And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding” (Jeremiah 3:15). God chooses specific people to make them your pastors. The main thing these pastors are to give you is knowledge and understanding. When you have knowledge, but do not have the understanding, it is like the difference between doctors and nurses. Nurses are great people and are wonderfully educated. However, what many people do not know is that doctors and nurses study the same subjects. Doctors tend to study these subjects for a longer period and more in depth giving them the ability to diagnose patients on a different level than nurses. There is a certain understanding that doctors have that nurses do not have. What I am saying is that God is giving you knowledge and deepening your understanding. When you have a deep understanding, you behave differently. You may know things but God wants you to understand. One of the reasons for stability is understanding. In the parable of the sower, the people fell away because they did not understand (Matthew 13:3-8). A lack of understanding causes people to fall away. Open your heart so that you will not be a part of the group that does not understand. When you have understanding, you will never be destabilized when the enemy comes because you are deeper than the average person.
Today, I want us to focus on our Savior Jesus Christ who is the express image of God (Hebrews 1:3). Just looking at Jesus, you can learn a lot. Many wonderful things can be learned about a person without talking to them. Simply watching them can teach you about them. Throughout His ministry, Jesus had a great public ministry. However, there were occasions where he granted private interviews. Today, I want to focus on these private interviews that Jesus held. You learn a lot from each of these private interviews.
The first good reason is that, in a private interview, many blessings come to you. One of these blessings are explanations that make you understand mysteries and parables more clearly. Some of us are very content with staying far in all areas of life. You sit at the back, you never come near, no pastor knows you, you have no friends, have made yourself an isolated and depressed island. One of the early onsets of madness is quietness! These people disconnect from society and do not talk. This is not a good thing. “But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear” (Matthew 13:16). When you are brought close for a personal interview, you are having blessed eyes and ears that are about to see and hear things! “Lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them” (Matthew 13:15). When you are brought close to understand, you are healed! When you are brought close, it is for explanations and explanations cause you to understand better. Begin to draw close! Do not be content with being far. Press on to receive understanding.
