So Jesus came again into Cana of Galilee, where he
made the water wine. And there was a certain nobleman,
whose son was sick at Capernaum.
When he heard that Jesus was come out of Judaea into
Galilee, he went unto him, and besought him that he
would come down, and heal his son: for he was at the
point of death.
Then said Jesus unto him, except ye see signs and
wonders, ye will not believe.
The nobleman saith unto him, Sir, come down ere my
child die.
Jesus saith unto him, Go thy way; thy son liveth. And
the man believed the word that Jesus had spoken unto
him, and he went his way.
And as he was now going down, his servants met him,
and told him, saying, Thy son liveth.
Then inquired he of them the hour when he began
to amend. And they said unto him, Yesterday at the
seventh hour the fever left him. So the father knew that
it was at the same hour, in the which Jesus said unto him,
THY SON LIVETH: AND HIMSELF BELIEVED, AND
HIS WHOLE HOUSE.
John 4:46-53

1. The nobleman had a son who was suffering from an
illness.
So Jesus came again into Cana of Galilee, where he made
the water wine. And there was a certain nobleman, whose
son was sick at Capernaum.
John 4:46

2. The nobleman wanted Jesus to come to his house,
unlike the centurion who knew that Jesus Christ did
not actually have to come to the house for his son to be
healed.
When he heard that Jesus was come out of Judaea into
Galilee, he went unto him, and BESOUGHT HIM THAT
HE WOULD COME down, and heal his son: for he was at
the point of death.
John 4:47

3. Jesus knows that some people would not believe
except they see signs and wonders.
Then said Jesus unto him, EXCEPT YE SEE SIGNS and
wonders, ye will not believe.
John 4:48

4. The nobleman was concerned about his son’s miracle
and he believed that Jesus was the solution that would
prevent his son from dying.
The nobleman saith unto him, Sir, come down ere my
child die.
John 4:49

5. Even though the man insisted that Jesus should come,
Jesus did not go but rather spoke a word and the
nobleman’s son was healed where he was.
Jesus saith unto him, Go thy way; thy son liveth. And the
man believed the word that Jesus had spoken unto him,
and he went his way.
John 4:50

6. The time at which the nobleman’s son was healed
was the exact moment that Jesus spoke the Word. It
means that the moment at which the Word is spoken
is the holy and special moment when a miracle occurs.
And as he was now going down, his servants met him, and
told him, saying, Thy son liveth.
Then inquired he of them the hour when he began to
amend. And they said unto him, YESTERDAY AT THE
SEVENTH HOUR THE FEVER LEFT HIM.
John 4:51-52

7. You can expect your miracle at the moment in which
the Word is spoken.
And as he was now going down, his servants met him, and
told him, saying, Thy son liveth.
Then inquired he of them the hour when he began to amend.
And they said unto him, Yesterday AT THE SEVENTH
HOUR THE FEVER LEFT HIM.
John 4:51-52

8. The miracle healing of the nobleman’s son
demonstrates the love of God, the compassion of Jesus
Christ, the greatness of Jesus Christ and the power of
the Holy Spirit.
… For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he
might destroy the works of the devil.
1 John 3:8
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten
Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish,
but have everlasting life.
John 3:16

9. “Go thy way, thy son liveth”. When you receive the
Word of God, life will come into your household
instead of death. By receiving the Word of Jesus, the
nobleman had life instead of holding a funeral.

10. Open your heart to Jesus and you will receive
everlasting life.
He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son
of God hath not life.
1 John 5:12
