MY LONG-AWAITED PROMOTION HAS COME IV

Who fed thee in the wilderness with manna, which thy fathers knew not, that he might humble thee, and that he might prove thee, to do thee good at thy latter end (Deuteronomy 8:16).

God is testing you so that he can promote you. Sometimes you remain in a place longer than expected because you did not pass the tests that came before the promotion. It is important that you take note of the tests and see things as God wants you to see them.

And thou shalt remember all the way which the Lord thy God led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, and to prove thee, to know what was in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or no (Deuteronomy 8:2).

One of the things that tests do is that they humble you. You know within yourself that you cannot easily pass that same test if given to you within a short span. There is nobody reading this who is not going to pass the tests given to them and is not going to be greatly promoted. When God blesses and promotes you, you start to follow what is written in Deuteronomy 8:18 “But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.” As time goes by, you will realize that God has blessed you and given you the power to get wealth. Now wealth is relative. It is sometimes based on what you need. People can earn ten to twenty times more than you do but you with your smaller amount of money can do more than they can. Gradually, you will notice a change in your finances. God expects you to notice these changes financially and give Him thanks. When you do that, you will start to notice that you are climbing higher and higher. When you do not notice such things, you are not thankful. Thankfulness is different from saying thank you. You can say thank you but you are not thankful. Being thankful is always being grateful and appreciative. Today, I want you to make a conscious effort to become a thankful person. Recognize the tests that will come your way on the path to your long-awaited promotion.

“To know wisdom and instruction; to perceive the words of understanding; To receive the instruction of wisdom, justice, and judgment, and equity; To give subtilty to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion” (Proverbs 1:2-4).

Discretion is one of the tests you will go through on the path to your long-awaited promotion. Discretion is the ability to take decisions on your own. Sometimes, you are blessed to have good advice but many times, there is nobody to tell you what to do. That is when you are told to use your own discretion. Your discretion is going to come into play all the time in your life and each time you make a decision, it will either cause you rise up or fall down. Receive discretion to pass your tests on the path to your long-awaited promotion.

MY LONG-AWAITED PROMOTION HAS COME III

“To know wisdom and instruction; to perceive the words of understanding; To receive the instruction of wisdom, justice, and judgment, and equity; To give subtilty to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion” (Proverbs 1:2-4).

When it comes to your long-awaited promotion, there are seven things you will be tested on; your wisdom, knowledge, understanding, equity, judgement, your justice and discretion. Discretion speaks of the decisions you take on your own when  no one is around. This one thing is perhaps the most important ability you need to have. Many times, missionaries do not do well because on their own, they cannot take good decisions. However, when they are around, they are given directions and instructions on what to do next.

Joseph is a good example of a person who was faced with many of the issues of life that we all face (Genesis 37). The first test Joseph faced was on how to handle the vision.

“And he said unto them, Hear, I pray you, this dream which I have dreamed: For, behold, we were binding sheaves in the field, and, lo, my sheaf arose, and also stood upright; and, behold, your sheaves stood round about, and made obeisance to my sheaf. And his brethren said to him, Shalt thou indeed reign over us? or shalt thou indeed have dominion over us? And they hated him yet the more for his dreams, and for his words. And he dreamed yet another dream, and told it his brethren, and said, Behold, I have dreamed a dream more; and, behold, the sun and the moon and the eleven stars made obeisance to me. And he told it to his father, and to his brethren: and his father rebuked him, and said unto him, What is this dream that thou hast dreamed? Shall I and thy mother and thy brethren indeed come to bow down ourselves to thee to the earth” (Genesis 37:6-10)?

You can see that Joseph had respect for his dreams. He must have had a sense of respect for his dreams and deemed them important enough to tell his brethren and father. We all tend to feel like if God appeared to us the way he appeared to the other person, then we will truly serve the Lord properly. Despite the questions he faced when he shared it with his brothers and father. He took his dream seriously!

“And Jesus answered and spake unto them again by parables, and said, The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, which made a marriage for his son, And sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the wedding: and they would not come. Again, he sent forth other servants, saying, Tell them which are bidden, Behold, I have prepared my dinner: my oxen and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready: come unto the marriage. But they made light of it, and went their ways, one to his farm, another to his merchandise:” (Matthew 22:1-5).

When you make light of a dream, a vision or a call, do not expect to become anything. However, when you pass the test of taking the smallest conviction and vision from God in your heart, then you can expect to go to the next level. At the beginning of life, this is where many people part company, one makes light of the vision they receive and another takes it seriously. Nobody can be serious about your calling. You must be serious about your own calling. Nobody can superimpose their seriousness on your attitude of lightness. Do not think that it is people who not have anything to do who take their calling seriously! Do not also think that things are clearer and easier for somebody but not for you. Things are not any easier or clearer for the next person. The difference between you and the next person will be how you handle the vision. Receive grace to take your vision seriously! From today, a door is opening for you taking you higher and higher.

MY LONG-AWAITED PROMOTION HAS COME II

“All the commandments which I command thee this day shall ye observe to do, that ye may live, and multiply, and go in and possess the land which the Lord sware unto your fathers. And thou shalt remember all the way which the Lord thy God led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, and to prove thee, to know what was in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or no. And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the Lord doth man live. Thy raiment waxed not old upon thee, neither did thy foot swell, these forty years. Thou shalt also consider in thine heart, that, as a man chasteneth his son, so the Lord thy God chasteneth thee. Therefore thou shalt keep the commandments of the Lord thy God, to walk in his ways, and to fear him. For the Lord thy God bringeth thee into a good land, a land of brooks of water, of fountains and depths that spring out of valleys and hills; A land of wheat, and barley, and vines, and fig trees, and pomegranates; a land of oil olive, and honey; A land wherein thou shalt eat bread without scarceness, thou shalt not lack any thing in it; a land whose stones are iron, and out of whose hills thou mayest dig brass. When thou hast eaten and art full, then thou shalt bless the Lord thy God for the good land which he hath given thee. Beware that thou forget not the Lord thy God, in not keeping his commandments, and his judgments, and his statutes, which I command thee this day: Lest when thou hast eaten and art full, and hast built goodly houses, and dwelt therein; And when thy herds and thy flocks multiply, and thy silver and thy gold is multiplied, and all that thou hast is multiplied; Then thine heart be lifted up, and thou forget the Lord thy God, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage; Who led thee through that great and terrible wilderness, wherein were fiery serpents, and scorpions, and drought, where there was no water; who brought thee forth water out of the rock of flint; Who fed thee in the wilderness with manna, which thy fathers knew not, that he might humble thee, and that he might prove thee, to do thee good at thy latter end;” (Deuteronomy 8:1-16).

You are living! You are possessing the land! You are entering the land God has prepared for you in Jesus name. If you are honest with yourself, you will realize that troubles have a way of humbling you. It makes you cooler and calmer. That is why older people at times appear not to shout as much or be as excited. It is not that they are angry but because they have experienced trials. Now when you get married, you sign up for this journey of humility full of trials. “And thou shalt remember all the way which the Lord thy God led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, and to prove thee, to know what was in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or no” (Deuteronomy 8:2). That is why even certain jobs ask for your marital status because it is a sign that you have gone through trials that will bring about humility. At times, people that are not married are prouder than those who are. Even God who searches the heart allows you to go through things to prove you and find out what is in your heart. Everyone says nice things but when you are put through trials, with time, what is in your heart will come out.

One of the tests you will go through will be the test of your wisdom and discretion. Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom” (James 3:13). Your wisdom is shown by your good behavior and works, with meekness. When you are wise, you become humble. It is wise to be humble! Wise husbands and wives are humble. Wisdom is your ability to apply knowledge, experience, understanding, common sense and insight. In the tests of your wisdom, the type of wisdom you have will be revealed (James 3:15). Your long-awaited promotion will come to pass when you are able to successfully respond to the tests that come your way. Receive wisdom to pass the tests of time. Receive the ability to apply the knowledge you have gained in your tests and you will experience glimpses of your long-awaited promotion.

THE COMPONENTS OF YOUR LONG-AWAITED PROMOTION

“Lift not up your horn on high: speak not with a stiff neck. For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another” (Psalm 75:5-7).

There is what we call non-verbal communication, things you are saying without saying verbally opening your mouth to say. The Bible is full of examples of such communication styles like speaking with a stiff neck. This form of speaking, with a stiff neck, is pride and you are being delivered from all forms of pride today in Jesus name!

Today, I want to share with you on the components of your long-awaited promotion.

“And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals. And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof? And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon. And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon. And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.. . And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth. And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands; Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.” (Revelation 5:1-12).

You cannot put God in a box. When you read verse four of Revelation 5, it described Jesus as the lion of the tribe of Judah. However, when they showed who was on the throne, it was a lamb! You see, God can come to you in any way he sees fit. God has different presentations of himself. He is not predictable. Do not be so predictable for the devil to prevail against you. As we read on in Revelation 5, we receive the seven components of your long-awaited promotion in verse twelve: power, riches, wisdom, strength, honor, glory and blessing! To receive these components of your long-awaited promotion, you must prepare for tests and pass them all. For God’s promotion to come to pass, everyone will have to pass the same tests at one point or another. Look at the past questions written in the Bible to successfully pass these tests.

“The proverbs of Solomon the son of David, king of Israel; To know wisdom and instruction; to perceive the words of understanding; To receive the instruction of wisdom, justice, and judgment, and equity; To give subtilty to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion (Proverbs 1:1-4). To receive your promotion, you will be tested on your wisdom, instruction, understanding, judgement, justice subtilty and discretion. MY LONG-AWAITED PROMOTION HAS COME

Lord, how are they increased that trouble me! many are they that rise up against me.  Many there be which say of my soul, There is no help for him in God. Selah” (Psalm 3:1-2).

If you live long enough, you will find yourself professing the statements of verses one and two. You will find that there will be an increase in the number of people that trouble you and rise up against you. You will also have an increased number of people that are talking about you. So today, no matter how many people have increased against you, no matter the whispering and gatherings against you, I predict that the Lord is the shield about you and your glory and the lifter of your head. God will lift up your head and make you smile again.

“I cried unto the Lord with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy hill. Selah. I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the Lord sustained me.” (Psalm 3:4-5)

God is hearing every prayer that you pray. Do not stop praying. There is a difference between those who pray and those who do not pray. God is hearing all your prayers. If you stay in your church long enough, you will learn to believe in prayers. You may not know how powerful verse five is until you meet somebody who says “we went to bed and did not wake up.” I recently saw a story of a woman who got married and twenty-nine days later went to bed with her husband and he simply did not wake up after twenty-nine days of marriage. You will wake up every morning this year in Jesus name!

“I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people, that have set themselves against me round about” (Psalm 3:6).

I want to say that there has always been danger. There is danger today and danger is only increasing. In every country you go to, you find increasing danger of so many things. A few days ago, a story came out about a man in a local New York hospital who got up and began to shoot in the hospital. You would have thought this would happen in other parts of the world and not in New York and certainly not in a hospital. You are saved from every peculiar danger in your area in Jesus name. When you are a fighter, you will always find people seeking to destroy you. That is why Jerusalem was described as beautiful for situation (Psalm 48:2). If you were going to fight with any city, you would find it difficult to go against the people of Jerusalem because it was up on a hill. You are safe in Jesus name. God has given you a good Jerusalem to secure you and secure your life. Your situation is good in Jesus name.
